19.  Twilight

“Who’s ready to go out?” Anita declared.

“Anita,” Anna pointed out, her voice sounding strained, “the sun just started to set.”

“And your point is?”

“You’ve already started drinking,” Tara noted, brushing on mascara. 

“I’ll be fine,” Anita said.  “I did my make-up beforehand.” 

“The best solution,” Marie joked, edging into the crowded bathroom from Anna’s bedroom.  “God, the sky is beautiful out there.”

“It should just be getting dark by the time we meet up with the boys,” Anna said.

“Best time for fun,” Anita said.  “Summer nights, at twilight.”

“Why?”

“Because the whole night’s ahead.  Anything is possible.”
