38 Sticky

“You did bring dessert, right?” Marie asked her boyfriend as they took seats on the lawn. 

“Of course,” Smurf said.  “How could I forget something as important as dessert?”  He brandished the bag at her, which Marie took and opened.

“Popsicles!” she exclaimed.  “Can we eat those first?”

“Sure,” Smurf replied.   He handed her the colored box, before taking one himself. 

“Thanks,” Marie said, her mouth already full of grape ice.

Smurf nodded.  “Figured I had to make up for last summer.”

The kiss that followed was a sticky mesh of flavors smeared across waiting lips.  And it was perfect.
