56 Picture of crossroads in a forest
The forest parted ways, trees splitting into separate paths. Naomi stopped running. One of the paths was more illuminated, with less brush and thinner trees. It looked safer than the other, which seemed to travel straight into the heart of the forest.
She didn’t know where to go. The city had been such a consistent part of her that she had next to no experience with anything outside it. If James was here, he’d suggested the darker path, using the shadows to keep out of sight.
But Naomi was sick of darkness. Smiling, she turned and ran into the light.
Naomi Williams. Original character.
