63 Picture of ice cream dropped on sand

“I can’t believe this!”

“What?”

“I dropped my ice cream.”

Lauren laughed out loud at the dismay in her husband’s voice.  “So, why not buy another one?”

“Oh, I’m planning on it,” Paul said.  “But this feels like such a waste.”

“Don’t worry, I’m sure someone’s dog will take care of the mess.”

Paul fixed her with a stern look.  “My mother would be running over to get napkins about now.”

“But we’re on a beach!”

Unexpectedly, he grinned.  “No kidding.”

Resting a hand on her pregnant belly, Lauren suggested, “Should we get you another cone?”

“Sounds like a plan.”

Paul and Lauren Wilson.  Original characters.
