83 Hallelujah

“Why don’t you like my music anymore?”

Naomi shook her head.  “I have nothing against that song.”

“Then why don’t you want me to play it?” James asked.  “It’s pretty, I swear.”

“I know that.”

James raised his eyebrows.  “Then why can’t I play it?”

“Because you can’t.”

He shook his head in turn.  “That makes no sense, Naomi.  You’ve got to give me a real answer.”

Naomi looked straight at him.  “I can’t.  Just play something else.”

Grumbling, James switched the player to a different song, this one louder and angrier.  “I don’t understand.”

“It reminds me of us.”

Naomi Williams and James Knox.  Original characters.
